A collection of chess books

Every book fixes one thing you keep getting wrong

Not another general chess course. Focused books, each written against a single specific failure, the won position you threw away, the opening you never understood, the endgame you drew. Pick the three that describe your last ten losses.

Your weakness map

First, where are you playing right now?

This only decides which level of book you are shown. There is no wrong answer.

Why we exist

Most chess books teach the game. These fix the way you lose it.

A general manual has to cover everything, so it gives your weakness a paragraph and your strength a chapter. You finish it better informed and lose the same games in the same way. OPUS CHESS starts from the opposite end: one recurring, diagnosable failure per book, and nothing else in it until that failure is gone.

  • 01

    One problem per book

You are never paying for 300 pages of material about mistakes you do not make.

  • 02

    Named, not vague

Every title states the exact failure it addresses. If the title does not describe you, do not buy that book.

  • 03

    Built for your level

Each book is marked beginner, intermediate or expert, sometimes more than one, when the problem outlives the rating.

Who is behind it

Six grandmasters. 14 years spent making other people better.

In 2011 six friends, all grandmasters, founded a chess association to bring the game to their country. Since then they have coached hundreds of players, from a first tournament to a first title, and watched the same games get lost in the same handful of ways. In 2025 they finally wrote down what they had spent those years correcting at the board.

A strong master knows how to play. Someone who has taught for 14 years knows where you get stuck.

Before you buy

The things people ask first

Who actually writes these books?

A working group of 6 grandmasters, each writing only in the area they compete in. Nobody writes outside their speciality, and every variation is checked at the board by a second titled player who did not write it before the book is released.

What if the book is not what I expected?

You have 14 days to ask for a full refund, and you do not need to give a reason. Write to the support address in your receipt.

How quickly will I see a difference in my games?

Each book targets one recurring mistake, so the change shows up first in exactly the games where that mistake used to appear. Most readers notice it within a handful of serious games rather than after months of general study.

Are these for beginners or strong players?

Both, but not the same books. Every title is marked beginner, intermediate or expert, and some carry more than one level because the problem persists as you improve.

Why not just use free videos and puzzle apps?

Free material is organised around what is easy to publish, not around what is going wrong in your games. These books start from the mistake and work backwards, which is why each one can be finished and applied instead of endlessly consumed.

What do I actually receive, and what can I read it on?

A download that arrives the moment your payment clears, readable on any device you own. The link stays valid so you can load it somewhere else later. Nothing expires, and there is no subscription.

Which three would change your results?

Pick the books that name the way you actually lose. Three for US$39, downloadable in the next minute.
